I'm quietly proud of Medicare and the HECs system, myself. Obviously Medicare could be better (eg: dental!), and I wouldn't say no to free education if I could get it (but actually I'm quite happy with my 7/8 funded undergrad degree and my free postgrad - paying for 1/8 of my first degree seems reasonable to me), but I think these are systems we can justly be pleased with.
