I just went to leave this note in my weekly message to student librarians, only I realised that only K would get it, so I'm putting it up here instead where she and other nerds among you can enjoy it:

Week Six: aaargh aaargh how is it week six already? Someone has mis-shelved all my time. Whole weeks that should be at 262.9 32 keep turning up scattered around the 823s and in 306.4.1

~

1. To get the exact reference for the first one you will have to consult the Fisher library catalouge, but a quick glance at any 262.9 shelf listing will give you the general idea. 270.3092 could also be inserted in this context. Or 829.5 W964 J1 PG 1.

My GOD you are such a nerd. Granted, I only had to look up the 262.9 32 reference to understand the whole thing, so who in this case is nerdlier, you or me?

306.4, hah.

What about 306.7660 etc? Surely you've left some time around there.

Yes, and there's a large wedge of it at 004.693 2 as well.

You're nerdier. I had to look up ALL of them, even the 262.9 32 despite having written it out by hand on a Rare Book request slip about nine million times.

also ZOGM i has nerd power- found the subject listings for the Exodus/Daniel book!

I knew the 306 one because I've spent a lot of time in that section - it's fun. I guessed the 200s ones because all the religion stuff is on the 3rd floor of Fisher and besides I've hung around there myself.

I'm meant to be spending time in 895.63, 940.18, 933, and a fair bit of the 306s and 305s myself. To spare you, they're Japanese literature, crusading history, the history of Jerusalem, and gender history.

I know 940.18. Oh, how I know 940.18. With great pain, is how I know 940.18. And I can bloody guess 305-6 :P.

*rolls around in glee* I am taking so much delight in the fact that I MADE A JOKE IN DEWEY DECIMAL CODE, you have no idea.

i'm guessing particularly pertinent might be 306.4 23, followed more pleasurably by 306.4 6 and 306.4 36, expressed through 306.4 17?
But then again, I had to look all of them up.

Ahaha. 306.4 17 is pretty close- I was thinking of various books on fandom studies scattered around the 306.4s :)

but yes, 306.4 23 has also been on my mind. And nice use of Dewey code!
